The movie opens with narration from Kuzco, in the form of a llama, telling the story of how his life was ruined for no reason, he sais. However, in his flashback he's shown to have been a rude, self-absorbed ruler. After he fires his advisor, Yzma, for abusing her power, she and her henchman Kronk plot to usurp the throne. Kuzco is the emperor of the Kuzconian Empire in Peru. At first, Kuzco was very self-centered, thinking that everyone should be put below him, because he is the Emperor and has the power to make his own rules. Kuzco is forced by law to graduate from Kuzco Academy, a school that he paid for, in order to stay Emperor, and that now he has to graduate in order to continue as an emperor. Yzma and Kronk continually plot to make sure that Kuzco fails his class and he doesn't become Emperor as they want to become the rulers. He is 18 years old but his mind let’s us believe that he is 7 years old, always making silly things and getting in trouble. He has shoulder length black hair. His occupation is an Emperor and a student at Kuzco Academy. He wears emperor clothing a red-and-yellow robe and a golden emperor crown. He also has aqua earrings on his ears. Kuzco is initially portrayed as as arrogant, comically conceited, selfish, cocky, sarcastic teenager, albeit with a sense of flair, style and pizazz. He lives in an attic bedroom with Pacha and Chicha's children Tipo, Chaca and Yupi. He falls hard for Malina, a beautiful and intelligent girl who's more then a little obsessed with perfection. Malina and Kronk are Kuzco's primary companions during his misadventure. In time Kuzco gets to learn how to care for other and put other ahead of him, which will guide him to become a good emperor and get trough all the challenges her has in his way.
