The series follows the adventures of a 16-year-old robot girl called Jenny Wakeman also known as XJ-9, who was created by her mother Dr. Nora Wakeman, a science genyus woman. Jenny was designed to protect Earth, but really wants to do teenage stuff and not save the world, even if eventually she saves the day when earth is in danger. Jenny's friends are her next-door neighbors Brad and Tuck Carbuckle, two boys who are always spending their time playing and having fun with her. Brad is outgoing and adventurous, and is the first actual friend Jenny makes, while Tuck is Brad's rambunctious younger brother who usually goes on adventures uninvited. Another one of her friends is Sheldon Lee, a somewhat stereotypical nerd who is infatuated with her even if he knows that she is a robot. Designed as a crime-fighting robot, Jenny is equipped with much advanced weaponry within her body and possesses super strength and speed. Thanks to having high Artificial Intelligence , Jenny's personality is that of an eager young teenager, one who desires a sense of freedom, but also wants acceptance from the people surrounding her. She generally possesses a kind personality and likes anything pertaining to teenage activities, but hates it when her mother or her duties get in her way of her enjoyment, and that she has to leave her friend in order to save the world. Even if she does not like to do on saving mission, she feels very good every time she saves the Earth. Unfortunately, she is easily trusting of others and, as a result, can be quite naïve.
