Design Your WHOAHLer Coaster with Ruff Ruffman is a fun and interactive building game where creativity, physics, and safety go hand in hand. In this colorful and educational adventure, your job is to create a roller coaster that's not only exciting but also completely safe for your passengers, especially Ruff and his squeaky hedgehog toy companion!
To build your coaster, you'll use your mouse to place various track pieces onto the building area. These pieces can be stretched to different lengths, sloped upward or downward, and curved to create thrilling turns and drops. The track design tools are intuitive: drag the ends of a track to change its size, the triangles to alter the slope, and the middle of curved tracks to modify their shape.
Once your track is ready, it's time to test it! Place the squeaky hedgehog on the cart and let it ride. During testing, you’ll see whether your coaster performs well or runs into issues. If the cart flies off or gets stuck, don’t worry, the game gives helpful alerts to guide your redesign. These messages are clear and constructive, such as suggesting uninterrupted tracks or smoother slopes to keep the cart safe and on course.
After each test, your coaster is rated on two criteria: Fun Factor and Safety Rating. Your goal is to earn a thumbs-up on both. If one or both ratings are low, go back and tweak your design. This trial-and-error process teaches basic engineering and problem-solving skills while keeping the experience lighthearted and entertaining.
