Forgoria is a turn-based tactical strategy game played on a chess-like grid, where every decision can determine whether your forge survives the coming enemy waves. Command your own medieval stronghold, recruit fighters, construct useful buildings, and defend your headquarters against increasingly dangerous goblins and monsters.
Each unit has its own movement and attack rules, creating a tactical system inspired by chess while adding the strategy of tower defense and resource management. Your ultimate goal is to survive all the way to wave 20 without allowing your main forge to be destroyed.
Begin each game by opening the forge and hiring a smith along with your starting fighters. Place your units inside the green deployment zone, then start the battle and prepare for the first enemy wave. During your turn, select a unit and move it to another tile or attack an enemy. Units can move and fight during the same turn, giving you plenty of tactical options. Combat is based on ATK and DEF, with damage calculated as ATK minus DEF and a minimum of 1 damage. Defenders that survive an attack may also counterattack, so positioning your troops carefully is essential.
Your forge is also the center of your economy and defenses. Steel is needed to recruit troops and construct buildings, while mines and the forge provide income throughout the game. The smith can construct important structures and strengthen nearby allies, while barracks unlock additional fighters for your army. Towers provide defensive coverage across the battlefield, and the market allows you to purchase useful potions.
Every successful battle brings another wave, with enemies becoming stronger as you progress. Before each fight, read the wave briefing and study the available units in the codex so you can understand what threats are approaching. Different units offer different advantages: mages can heal wounded allies, archers attack from a distance, and scouts can hide in forests to gain a tactical advantage.
