Slime Chess is a tactical board game that mixes classic chess movement with colorful slime powers and unpredictable battles. Build your army from familiar chess pieces, move them across the board using their standard movement rules, and prepare for a different kind of capture system. There is no check or checkmate, so your main objective is to destroy the enemy king and claim victory.
Every move can create a new tactical situation as you decide when to attack and when to protect your most important pieces. Regular captures are settled through rock paper scissors instead of traditional chess exchanges. When you attack a non-king piece, a duel begins and the result determines whether the attacker succeeds or loses.
Every attacking loss increases that piece's loss counter, and after suffering three losses, the attacking piece is destroyed. This creates an extra layer of risk, making even simple attacks something you need to consider carefully before committing to them. Battles involving a king work differently through the Royal Battle system. Whenever either side of a clash is a king, you must choose a die to determine the outcome.
You can use the standard d6, upgrade to a stronger d8, or save your most powerful d10 for an important confrontation. Bonuses can also be spent during these battles, giving you another way to influence critical moments. Since stronger dice and bonuses are limited, using them at the right time can make a major difference.
Slime colors add another tactical element to your army, with unique effects that can change how your pieces perform in battle. Collect coins and use them to unlock new slime colors, giving you more possibilities as you develop your strategy. Learning how these abilities work alongside the different battle systems is essential, especially when deciding which pieces should take risks and which should stay out of dangerous encounters.
