Protocol: Zero is a high-intensity arcade space shooter that puts you in the cockpit of humanity’s last defensive fleet. Designed as a true test of reflexes and tactical decision-making, the game challenges you to survive relentless waves of enemies controlled by an adaptive AI. Every battle becomes a dynamic duel of skill versus machine learning, as the enemy gradually adjusts to your playstyle and punishes predictable patterns. Only pilots who can adapt, reposition, and think ahead will endure long enough to be called true aces.
Your hangar contains nine unique combat vehicles, each offering a distinct approach to survival. Take command of the agile Splitter for precision maneuvering, or unleash the overwhelming firepower of the Pioneer to dominate crowded battlefields. As you fight, you collect combat data and resources that can be invested into upgrading weapons, armor, and special abilities. These improvements allow you to push deeper into enemy territory, but success comes with risk, staying longer means greater rewards, yet also greater danger.
One of Protocol: Zero’s defining mechanics is its strategic evacuation system. At regular intervals, an extraction zone appears, offering you the chance to secure your accumulated resources and upgrades. Choosing whether to evacuate or continue fighting becomes a constant tension point: retreat safely and progress steadily, or gamble everything for higher scores and leaderboard glory. This risk-versus-reward loop keeps every run suspenseful and meaningful.
Battle Mode offers fast-paced action tailored for competitive players who want to climb global leaderboards. Each session is a race against escalating difficulty, where positioning, timing, and situational awareness determine how long you can survive. The adaptive enemy behavior ensures that no two runs feel identical, maintaining long-term replayability and challenge.
Controls are responsive and intuitive across platforms. On PC, move with WASD or arrow keys, aim with the mouse, fire with the left mouse button, and trigger special abilities with the right mouse button.
How to play
W, A, S, D, or Arrow Keys — Control ship movement. Mouse — Aim (the cursor indicates the direction). Left Mouse Button (LMB) — Fire the primary weapon. Right Mouse Button (RMB) — Activate a special ability. ESC or P — Pause / Open menu. For Mobile Devices (Touch Controls): Left Stick — Move the ship. Right Stick — Aim and fire (Fires automatically when you move the stick). Interface — Tap the ability and pause icons on the screen.
